USB Interface
Introduction
When using a USB connection, the default protocol is USB COM Port Emulation.
USB DataPipe is a Newland Auto-ID Co., Ltd. developed protocol. The DataPipe driver should be installed
on the Host. It supports data transmission and user preference programming. QuickSet works with DataPipe.
The DataPipe driver for Windows is available in www.nlscan.com/en.
USB DataPipe can emulate an RS232 port on the Host, which is USB COM Port Emulation. It uses DB9
DIN and works exactly the same as an RS232. USB DataPipe driver is required.
When only data transmission is needed through USB connection, USB HID-KBW option can be
programmed. It emulates the unit’s transmission as a USB keyboard input. The Host receives keystrokes of
the virtual keyboard. It is “Plug and Play”. There is no driver required.
If a USB connection and an RS232 connection are used at the same time, the engine will select USB
connection by default for its priority.
